The castle is a shining example of early 15th century court Renaissance art. You arrive at the castle having completed a picturesque climb and the first striking aspect you notice is the irregularity of its shapes, due to the additions and alterations made to the original building later on. In the oldest part, located at the top in the middle, a very tall tower stands out. It used to be surrounded by solid walls and other square towers that have now disappeared, and it can be dated to the 12th century. The Castle was owned by several families, from the local Aicardi, Pagnoni, and Enganna families, to the Aleramicas of Saluzzo.

Palazzo Fauzone in Germagnano, one of the oldest buildings in the city, houses the Museo della Ceramica “Vecchia Mondovì” or "Old World" Ceramics Museum, a place where visitors can rediscover the great Monregalese artisan tradition and admire some of the most emblematic productions. In addition to the exhibition, the building also houses multimedia rooms and temporary exhibitions of great artistic value.

The ancient convent complex of San Francesco, in Savigliano, currently houses two superior quality museum installations that preserve some of the city's most famous memories and works of art: it is the Museo Civico, dedicated to its historic curator Antonino Olmo, and the Gipsoteca Davide Calandra.
