The Mombracco: Belvedere dalla Trappa - ph. Roberto Croci

Mombracco is an unusual mountain. Of medium height, its vast surface area features extreme variations in landscape, alternating in rotation under the gaze and step of its visitors. It is a mountain of half seasons, an alternative to higher altitudes, easily accessible from the different surrounding towns and with numerous internal routes. It offers a circular route that can be completed by good walkers in a day, but more enjoyable if divided into two days, in addition to several connecting routes with varying differences in altitude.

A mountain that surprises you with unexpected discoveries

Mombracco, with its undulating landscape, reveals unexpected surprises even for more experienced hikers. For more skilled readers of the land, the mountain guards evidence of human activity that can be seen in the terracing or in the characteristic stone meire (mountain dwellings) built under the rocky outcrops. There are still more ancient echoes of pagan and Christian stories found in numerous rock carvings.
